After the success of Dzire Tour, Maruti Suzuki has launched the Celerio Tour H2, aimed at taxi operators and cab aggregators. The taxi variant is based on the facelifted Celerio, and is priced at Rs 4.21 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Celerio Tour doesn’t come with body-coloured ORVMs or door handles. Wheel covers aren’t offered as well. What it does get however, is a manual AC, fabric upholstery and a driver side airbag. The govt-mandated speed limiting device (for taxis) is fitted as standard which restricts the speed to 80 km/h.
Powering the taxi is the same 998 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine from the non-taxi variant, which produces 50 kW (67 hp) and 90 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Back in June 2015, MSIL had introduced a diesel Celerio, with a newly developed 793 cc 2-cylinder unit, which delivered around 47 hp and 125 Nm of torque. It was discontinued in early 2017.
