The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is now on sale in India, priced at Rs 1.33 Crore for the S 350 d, and Rs 1.37 Crore for the S 450. The new S-Class line up was globally unveiled back in April 2017. The Maybach versions – S 650 and S 560 were launched at the Auto Expo 2018, priced at Rs 2.73 Crore and Rs 1.94 Crore, respectively. All prices ex-showroom, Pan India.
The S 350 d gets OM656 diesel engine that is ready to meet BS-VI emission norms that are due to be implemented only in 2020. The 3.0 inline-6 cylinder two-stage turbocharged engine delivers 210 kW (286 hp) and 600 Nm of torque. Mercedes said that the new engine consumes up to 6 percent less fuel. This engine features similar technology that we previously saw in the OM654. With OM656 engine, the new S-Class can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds.
On the petrol side, the S 450 packs a 3.0 V6 twin turbo that delivers 270 kW (367 hp) and 500 Nm of torque. The petrol S-Class sprints from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
Both engines are paired to a 9-Speed automatic transmission, and top speed of both models are limited to 250 km/h.

Radar based Driving Assistance features are offered as an option for the new S-Class. These include Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Steering Assist, Active Braking Assist and Blind Spot Assist.
