Datsun has launched the redi-GO AMT at an introductory price of Rs 3,80,600, ex-showroom. The company calls the AMT as “Smart Drive Auto”.
The 5-speed AMT is offered with the redi-GO 1.0L variant. Notice that unlike the Kwid AMT which gets a rotary dial, the redi-GO AMT comes with a proper gear shift lever with manual mode.
Apparently, the redi-GO Smart Drive Auto comes with two driving modes – Dual-Driving Mode and Rush Hour Mode. The former is when the user has the flexibility of switching between automated and manual mode, while the latter is basically a Creep functionality which provides a cruising speed of 5 – 6 km/h to help in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Other features of this model includes all-black interiors, central locking system with remote key, front power windows, AC with heater, Bluetooth audio system with two speakers, speed-sensitive electric power steering, and a driver airbag.
The 999 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine develops 68 hp at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. Datsun claims a fuel economy of 23 km/l.
The car is available in five colors: Ruby Red, Lime Green, White, Grey and Silver.
