You might have given up on owning a military-grade civilian vehicle after the demise of Hummer, but there is a new player which you might be interested in.
Based in Orange County, CA, the Rezvani Motors is founded by Ferris Rezvani, son of a fighter pilot. Which basically explains the design roots of the vehicle and the company’s logo.
As for the Tank, it is based on a Jeep Wrangler. It is powered by FCA-sourced SRT engines, with the 3.6L V6 as a standard fitment. Buyers can opt for a 500 hp 6.4L V8 for $32,000.
Speaking of the options, there are many. The base model starts at $155,000. Options include Off-Road Package for $5,000, a more hardcore Off-Road Extreme Package for $12,500, Thermal Night Vision for $5,500, and few more convenience and luxury packages.
And for some reason, if the world decides to end, you can be safe in the Tank as there are multiple grades of Ballistic Armor (B4, B6, B7) protection options that go up to $95,000. Depending on the grade, they include Glass and all opaque armor, Bomb protection, Military Runflat Tires, Electrified Door Handles, and even a Hypothermia kit. More here.
You can reserve one for a deposit of $2,000, and Rezvani says that the build time is approximately 12 weeks.
