California-based engineering and manufacturing firm Aria Group is showcasing the FXE hybrid supercar at the 2017 LA Auto Show. Development is still underway, and the sales are expected to begin in 2019.
There will be two models on offer – FE and FXE. The former will use just a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 driving the rear wheels, while the latter will combine two electric motors on the front axle with a 10 kWh lithium-ion battery. The FXE will produce a max power of 1,150 hp and 1,316 lb-ft (1,784 Nm) of torque. Transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with Manual Shift Mode.
As for the construction, the monocoque chassis is made from carbon fibre and so is the body. Aria said that there’s an extensive use of 3D printed metal components. The vehicle weighs 1,565 kg curb.
A 0-60 mph (96.5 km/h) acceleration is claimed to happen in 3.1 seconds and the top speed is 220 mph (354 km/h).
