Skoda Auto India in a press release has announced a price hike of 2% – 3% across the model range from 1st January 2018. The company said that the changing market conditions and various external economic factors are driving this price impact.
Currently, Skoda offers 5 models in India – the Rapid, Octavia, Octavia RS, Superb, and the Kodiaq. While the new Octavia RS was lauded for being well priced, the Kodiaq at an ex-showroom price of Rs 34.49 lakh felt a bit pricey. Currently, the Kodiaq’s on-road price in Bengaluru stands at Rs 43.50 lakh – a bit more expensive than the more premium badges like the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Also, the Kodiaq is sold only in one single variant in India packing pretty much everything that is expected from its class.
The pricing of the new Octavia RS was so spot on that the first batch got sold out in no time. The next batch buyers will have to shell out more.
