India Kawasaki Motors has launched the 2018 Versys 650 at Rs 6.5 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. The new 650 gets a more aggressive, sharp-looking design.
The Versys 650’s 649 cc 4-stroke parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine produces 69 PS @ 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Kawasaki says that the engine has been tuned for low-mid range torque.
Front suspension is a 41 mm inverted telescopic fork with adjustable rebound damping (right-side) and adjustable preload (left-side), while the rear is a single-shock with remote spring preload adjustability.
Front brakes are dual 300 mm discs with 2-piston calipers while the rear is a single 250 mm disc with single piston caliper.
The larger windscreen with a 60 mm range can be adjusted without tools, and helps reduce wind noise and helmet buffeting, said the company. Foot-pegs have been re-positioned for a relaxed position.
