Volkswagen has launched the 8th generation Passat in India, priced at Rs 29.99 lakh for the Comfortline and Rs 32.99 lakh for the Highline variant. Both prices ex-showroom, Pan India.
The luxury sedan is being produced at the company’s Aurangabad facility. Based on the MQB platform, the new Passat is 70 kg lighter compared to its predecessor.
Exterior equipment list includes full LED headlamps with DRLs, LED taillamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels among others.
Other kit includes 3-zone Auto AC, electrically-adjustable front seats, App connect, Nappa leather seats, Dynamic chassis control, and Park Assist.
As for the safety, there are a total of 9 airbags, ESP, ABS, ASR, Hill Start Assist, Auto hold, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Reverse camera with 360⁰ area view.
Powertrains
Or powertrain, rather, the India-spec Passat is powered by a 2.0L TDI, producing 177 PS between 3,600-4,000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between 1,500-3,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed DSG auto. ARAI rated fuel efficiency is at 17.42 kmpl.
There are a choice of 6 colors — Oryx White Pearl effect, Deep Black Pearleffect, Black Oak Brown metallic, Pyrit Silver metallic, Atlantic Blue metallic and Mangan Grey metallic.
