Maruti’s flagship offering Ciaz, which moved to Nexa retail chain earlier this year, might get a Ritz-like grille when the facelift arrives next year.
The Ciaz is sold as Alivio in China, and the facelift has been spotted undisguised by the Chinese media. The car literally seems to be a “facelift”, as there seems to be no change at the rear or the side profile. The facelift retains the headlamp cluster too, while the fog lamp housing along with the bumper design has been tweaked.
However, expect some feature upgrades such as upgrading from the current projector headlamps to LED projectors and few more.
The Alivio in China is offered with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, producing 90 kW (120 hp) and 158 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT. The India-spec model might not get a larger engine, but some minor power upgrades are expected.
The Ciaz is an important car for Maruti, competing against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Polo and Skoda Rapid.
