2017 is the year of “official” things for Lexus in India. Although there were Lexus cars plying on Indian roads all along, it wasn’t really official. The cars were imported and docked at the TKM factory in Bengaluru, and then sent to the dealer to hand it over to the customer.

Four months after announcing the official entry to the Indian market, Lexus has inaugurated the fourth showroom or ‘Guest Experience Centre’ (GEC) in Bengaluru.

Needless to say, it’s a beautiful one. Lexus says that the Bangalore GEC is a confluence of Kannadiga and Japanese cultures. The hosting area is adorned with the ‘Sangam Jaali’ that is derived from the unity of two rivers and is inspired by the Indian style of greeting namaste and omotenashi of Japanese culture. While there GEC has Lexus design elements, the handcrafted Hampi chariot on the wall adds elegance.

“Lexus invites India to experience brand’s passion through our vehicles and discover a guest experience that is uniquely Lexus at any of the Lexus Guest Experience Centers,” said Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President, Lexus India.

Lexus India’s current lineup includes ES 300h, RX 450h (Luxury and F Sport), and LX 450d. Other Lexus GECs in India are in Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai.
