At Kia India’s ongoing dealer roadshow, the Picanto, Cerato, and Sportage has been showcased for the prospective dealers. Which means the Kia India’s portfolio will have a hatchback, a sedan, and a compact SUV when the expected operations begin in 2019.
Picanto
In the UK, the Picanto hatchback is offered with a choice of 66 bhp 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol or an 83 bhp 1.25-litre 4-cylinder petrol engines. While the 1.0L is paired with a 5-speed manual, the 1.25L gets an option of 4-speed auto.
The Picanto’s feature list includes a floating style 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 4 speakers, cruise control, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESC, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.
Cerato
Also known as ‘Forte’ in some international markets, the Cerato showcased for the prospective Indian dealers, is similar to the one sold in Australia. The sedan is offered with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing 150 hp and 192 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto.
The Cerato gets push-button start, paddle shifters, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 speakers, heated and ventilated seats, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESC, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start assist, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera and so on.
Sportage
The Sportage compact SUV is sold in several markets across the globe. In Australia, there’s a choice of two petrol and one diesel engines. The 153 hp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol, 181 hp 2.4-litre 4-cylinder petrol, and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder E-VGT diesel with 182 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed auto with AWD configuration.
Feature list includes a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 speakers, dual-zone climate control, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESC, Hill-start assist and many more.
Kia might also introduce the Sorento mid-size crossover and Soul compact crossover. The Soul was spotted testing in India along with the Sportage earlier this year.
