The much awaited 5th generation Hyundai Verna has been launched in India at Rs 7.99 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Verna comes in E, EX, SX, SX (O), SX+ trims, and below are the variant wise ex-Delhi prices –

The new Verna pretty much looks like a scaled-down Elantra, esp. when you look at the triple design split tail lamps. It rides on a new K2 platform, and the body is made out of 50% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS).
Feature list includes projector headlamps, LED DRLs, cornering lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, push button start, 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Auto AC, electric sunroof, 6 airbags, ABS and more.
There is something called as ‘Eco Coating’ – a patented technology that has been introduced in the Verna, where it is claimed to prevent unpleasant smell to develop in the AC Evaporator by degrading the bad bacteria developed in the AC Coils.
Auto Link
The new Verna comes with Auto Link – a connected car app where the user can monitor the vehicle’s health, driving information, get roadside assistance and book a service.
Colors
There are 7 color choices – Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Fiery Red, Stardust, Flame Orange, Polar White, and Siena Brown.
Powertrains
The new Verna is offered with a choice of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units. The 1591 cc 4-cylinder petrol produces 123 PS (121 hp) @ 6400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque @ 4,850 rpm. The diesel is a 1582 cc 4-cylinder VGT, with an output of 128 PS (126 hp) @ 4000 rpm and 260 Nm of torque @ 1500 – 3000 rpm. Transmission options are 6-speed manual or 6-speed auto.

ARAI certified efficiency figures for petrol with MT is 17.70 km/l (+0.7 km/l) and 15.92 km/l (+0.2 km/l) for AT. For diesel, it is 24.75 km/l (+0.85 km/l) for MT, while the AT returns 21.02 km/l (+0.9 km/l).
