Tata Motors’ upcoming compact SUV Nexon is being produced at Ranjangaon plant near Pune, and is slated to launch this festive season. Before that, lets take a look at some of its features shared by the company.
Multi Drive Modes
Claimed to be the segment first, the driver can switch between three different drive modes – Eco, City and Sport, via a rotary knob on the centre console which looks pretty much like the Range Rover’s Terrain Response system.
Floating touchscreen
Nexon’s dashboard features a floating 6.5-inch HD touchscreen display. Tata claims that the floating touchscreen not only makes infotainment usage easy but it also reduces “eye-off road time” for added safety. The HD screen promises a vivid & lively graphics.
Harman Infotainment
The floating touch display features Harman Infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and voice assistance. The 8-speaker surround sound system with high-fidelity audio, promises a home theatre experience. The user will also be able to read text & WhatsApp messages and voice based reply commands.
Central Console with Sliding Tambour Door
Tata calls this a “Grand Central Console”, which is inspired by high end cars giving it a premium feel to interiors. The sliding tambour door mechanism should be easy to store things.
Engines
The Nexon gets two engines, the 1.2L turbo Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L diesel engine from the Revotorq series, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Read more about the Nexon’s engines here.
