The GST for the auto sector is not all ‘benefits’, as the motorcycles with engine capacity more than 350 cc will attract 3% extra cess under GST, bringing the total to 31% (28% + 3%), 1% more than the previous 30%. The Bajaj Dominar 400 which saw two price hikes since its launch, will now cost over Rs 2,000 more.
Before GST, the standard Dominar 400 was priced Rs 1.39 lakh, while the ABS version was priced Rs 1.53 lakh, ex-Delhi. Now with the GST, the Dominar 400 will cost Rs 1.41 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh for the standard and ABS version, ex-Delhi, respectively. Compared to the launch price, there is an increase of Rs 5,000.
The Dominar 400 is powered by KTM 390’s reworked 373.3 cc engine with Bajaj’s patented triple spark technology, producing 35 ps (34.5 hp) @ 8000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque @ 6500 rpm, mated to a 6 Speed gearbox. The bike features a slipper clutch.
