No, we are not talking about anything new here. The Octavia RS 245 was revealed back in Geneva in March. What we are seeing now is a new set of images of both the hatchback and Combi variants, highlighting those fancy split LED headlamps.
Speaking of which, you might not like them in the standard 2017 Octavia, but here it looks really good with that sporty bumper and gloss black bits everywhere; more so in Red! 😉
Combi RS 245
As the name suggests, the RS 245 makes 245 PS (241 bhp) and 370 Nm of torque from its 2.0 4-cylinder TSI, 15 PS more than the RS 230. There is a choice of 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic, making debut for the first time in an Octavia. Performance figures are 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds for the hatchback and 6.7 seconds for the Combi. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Interiors feature some nice Alcantara sports seats and red contrast stitching. Other kit includes the 9.2-inch Columbus navigation system in glass design, which also displays “performance monitor”. There is ‘Skoda Connect’ services too, free for the first year after purchase.
The RS 245 is 15 mm lower than the standard one. The ESC with Sport mode is also part of the standard equipment. Adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is optional. As you would expect, there is Drive Mode Select with Normal, Eco, Sport and Individual modes. Electronically controlled limited-slip differential called VAQ is standard.
Moving on to the safety and driver assistance systems, there is radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Assist, Driver Alert fatigue detection, Blind Spot Detect, Traffic Sign Recognition, Manoeuvre Assist, Park Assist and Hill-Hold Control.
The 19-inch burnished gloss-black alloy wheels are standard.
