Looks like the sixth generation Volkswagen Polo will continue to appear in teasers and spy shots before an official unveil expected later this month. We have already seen them totally undisguised, leaving not much to the imagination.
So, the things we know about the new Polo is that the new generation model is built on the MQB (A0) platform, which makes the car larger than the outgoing model. The new car is expected to have an additional wheelbase of over 90 mm, which means, there should be no more complaints of lack of leg room. The new platform will also make the car lighter, which should translate into a better power-to-weight ratio and an improved fuel efficiency.
Internationally, the sixth generation Polo will get a new 1.0 3-cylinder TSI petrol option. However, for the Indian market, VW will most likely retain the current set of engines.
Since 1975, VW has sold over 14 Million Polos.
