Lamborghini has been expanding its production facility at Sant’Agata Bolognese as a part of its preparations for the upcoming “Super SUV”, the Urus. The existing building has been extended from 5,000 m2 to 7,000 m2.
As a part of this expansion, a new acoustic test room has been built to fine-tune the soundtrack or the ‘exhaust note’. Lamborghini says, the acoustic test room allows adjustment of particular sound sensations in order to create the “typical Lamborghini driving experience”, involving all the senses.
The facility was inaugurated with the presence of Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO, and Maurizio Reggiani, Board Member for Research and Development of Automobili Lamborghini.
The new facility also supports the acoustic adjustment of lightweight construction components, one of Lamborghini’s core competences. Additionally, the facility will play an important role in the realization of future vehicle concepts and drive train systems, added the official statement.
As for the Urus, the SUV will have a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo, and a plug-in hybrid version at a later date. Read more here.
