Let’s start with clearing the confusion. This isn’t the fifth generation Micra unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, but the existing one with some updates. Prices start at Rs 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

The updated Micra gets some feature additions. These include automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers and ‘lead me to car’ feature (a.k.a follow me headlamps). Interiors get black theme with piano black finish accompanied by orange accents on the seats, dashboard and arm rest. Other features such as keyless entry, push button start, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, auto AC, LED tail lamps are all there.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS + EBD + Brake Assist and speed sensing auto door lock. While the driver airbag is standard, passenger airbag is for the top-end XV trim.
No changes to the engine has been made. The new Micra will be available with a choice of two powertrains, a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 76 hp and 104 Nm of torque, mated to X Tronic CVT Automatic transmission, or a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel with an output of 63 hp and 160 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Fuel economy figures for the diesel variant is claimed at 23.08 km/l while the X-Tronic CVT Automatic variant returns 19.34 km/l under ARAI test conditions.
There are seven exterior colours to choose from – Brick Red, Turquoise Blue, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, Nightshade, Storm White and the new Sunshine Orange.
Additionally, Nissan is offering extended warranty package for 3 Years/50,000 kms (whichever comes earlier).
