The latest carmaker to pass on the GST benefits to the customer is Isuzu India. The company has cut the prices across its model range, including V-Cross and the newly launched MU-X. Depending on the model, the price cut ranges from Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh on ex-showroom price.
The MU-X was launched in India just a few weeks ago, at Rs 23.99 lakh ex-Delhi. After the price cut, the SUV now starts at Rs 22.4 lakh (ex-Delhi). The popular D-Max V-Cross gets a price cut too, and now costs Rs 12.7 lakh, ex-Delhi.
The SUVs currently attract a tax of up to 55%. Once the GST is implemented from July 1, they will attract a total of 43% tax (28% tax + 15% cess).
