Suzuki Motorcycles India has updated their ‘Big Bikes’ portfolio by launching the new GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R superbikes, priced at Rs 19 lakh and Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, respectively. The R variant is a more track-focused, and gets few more kit over the standard GSX-R1000.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 999.8 cc liquid-cooled inline-four cylinder engine. The manufacturer hasn’t released the numbers yet, but reportedly, the engine produces 199 hp of power and 117.6 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-Speed constant mesh gearbox. Braking duties are handled by Brembo twin discs with 4-piston calipers at front and a single Nissin 1-piston at rear.
Standard features include LED headlamp and LED tail lamp, LCD instrumentation, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector with three modes, Motion Track Traction Control System (MT-TCS) with 10 modes and ABS. The GSX-R1000R on the other hand gets Motion Track Anti-lock Brake System which is Pitch, Roll & Yaw Sensitive (Cornering ABS), Bi-directional Quick-shift System, Suzuki Launch Control System and black face LCD instrumentation.
The GSX-R1000 can be had in Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Mat Black, while the GSX-R1000R will be available in Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black.
