Just a week after the Tigor‘s launch, images of the new Maruti Dzire facelift have surfaced online, making the battle of the compact sedans more intense. The Dzire facelift takes the design cues from the new Swift unveiled in Japan, and adds a touch of Ciaz to it. If you know what i mean.
The front face has a swept-back projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The hexagonal grille has a chrome surround, which makes the car appear more wider than it actually is. The side profile is different too, and the design appears to be a lot more proportionate. The tail lamps appear to be LEDs. Overall, the new design is a complete departure from the outgoing model.
Interiors have been refreshed too, with the new instrument cluster and the addition of a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. Expect no mechanical changes under the hood, engine options will continue to be the 1.2 litre 4-cylinder petrol and 1.3 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel. Transmission options will continue to be 5 MT / 4 AT for petrol and 5 MT / AGS for the diesel.
As always, the new Dzire will rival the Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and the new Tata Tigor StyleBack.
