According to a report from Autocar India, the Tamo Racemo unveiled at the Geneva motor show, will be sold as a kit car. Which means, the kit will be supplied to the dealers or even to the individuals who wish to assemble themselves.
Italian designer Marcello Gandini patented MOFlex Multi-Material Sandwich (MMS) platform on which the Racemo is built, allows the entire car to be built on just a handful of larger modules, instead of hundreds of small components which is usually the case. The Racemo can be built at a small workshop and doesn’t require a large factory.
The report also states that dealers, except those willing to scale up to this operation model, won’t be retailing this car. This could mean that Tata itself might retail the Racemo.
