Kawasaki has launched the Z900 in India at Rs 9 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi, replacing the Z800. The Z900 made its debut at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show last year, and is brought to the country as CBU.
The Z900 is powered by a 948 cc inline-four cylinder 4-stroke liquid cooled engine, producing 125 PS (123 hp) @ 9500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque @ 7700 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-Speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. There is no ride-by-wire throttle, but a conventional cable-operated throttle valves. Compared to the Z800, there’s 12 hp and over 15 Nm more on offer.
Braking duties are handled by dual 300 mm discs with four-piston calipers at front, and a single 250 mm at the rear. ABS is offered as standard. At 210 kg kerb weight, the Z900 is 20 kg lighter than the Z800.
