The sixth-gen Volkswagen Polo has been spotted undisguised somewhere in South Africa, months away from its expected unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
For the front fascia, VW designers seems to have borrowed cues from the Golf, while the rear end has been kept subtle. But the re-designed tail lamps and a flattened-out tail gate makes a lot of difference.
Reportedly, the new Polo will be built on the smaller version of the MQB platform, which is shared with a number of VW Group products, including Seat Ibiza. The aforementioned platform will also make the new Polo a bit larger, and these photos wont lie! It does look a bit larger.
Internationally, a new 1.0 TSI 3-cylinder is expected to join the engine options list.
