Audi India had launched the fifth generation A4 (B9) last year in September, only with a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine. Today the company launched the much awaited diesel version at Rs 40.20 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The new generation Audi A4 35 TDi gets a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder unit, which is shared with many other members of the VW family. Here in the A4 35 TDi, the engine makes 190 hp of power @ 3800 – 4200 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1750 – 3000 rpm. Transmission is taken care by a 7 Speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels.
The new A4 diesel is 7% more fuel efficient than its predecessor, thanks to the MLB platform on which the new generation Audi A4 is built, making it more lighter than before. The new platform also helps achieve 0 – 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds, and a top speed of 237 km/h. The new A4 diesel gets an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 18.25 km/l.
