Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) will be launching the 2017 Honda City facelift on February 14th. The car has finished all rounds of testing and commercial shoots, and seems to be ready to take on the Maruti Ciaz one more time. Bookings have been started for a deposit of Rs 21,000.
The 2017 City gets a more sharper Civic-inspired design, with new set of LED headlamps and DRLs. The are new 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, and minor tweaks for the bumper design.
There are minor tweaks on the inside as well, with a gun metal theme adding a bit of premium touch. The top of the line gets a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and bluetooth telephony, sunroof, and some more equipment. Expect dual front airbags and ABS as standard across the range, and top end is expected to get 6 airbags. There is “enhanced safety package”, said Honda in an official release.
Honda will continue to offer the 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-DTEC diesel, with 5 and 6 Speed manual or a CVT option.
Announcing the launch, HCIL President and CEO, Yoichiro Ueno said, “The Honda City has been our most successful model ever since the start of operations in the country. It commands tremendous loyalty among customers and we are extremely excited to add another chapter to the success story of the model with the launch of the new Honda City 2017”.
