Yamaha India has released a teaser poster of what appears to be a 250 cc version of the FZ naked bike. Except the 24th January launch date, there isn’t any information available yet, not even the confirmation of the name.
However, the bike has been spotted testing earlier, which gives away the fact that it has been designed on the lines of FZ FI (version 2.0). The FZ 250 could pack a reworked 250 cc single cylinder engine from Fazer 250 of the Brazilian market, which makes around 20 hp. This engine in Brazil is mated to a 5 Speed gearbox. Expect front and rear discs, optional ABS, and features such as full digital instrument cluster and automatic headlamp on (AHO).
The FZ 250 will take on Kawasaki Z250.
