KTM India launched the 2017 RC 200 and 2017 RC 390 bikes today, priced at Rs 1,71,740 and Rs 2,25,300 respectively. Both prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The new models are BSIV compliant, and deliveries will commence by the end of January.
Besides the new body graphics and paint scheme, the 2017 RC 200 gets a bigger 300 mm front disc (+20 mm), and not a whole lot of changes. It continues to be powered by a single cylinder 199.5 cc liquid cooled engine, producing 25 Ps of power and 19.2 Nm of torque, mated to a 6 Speed gearbox. 230 mm rear single disc remain the same. However, the pillion seat has been improved. The RC 200 has a power-to-weight ratio of 162 Ps/tonne.
The 2017 RC 390 on the other hand gets a lot more than just the graphics. It gets a bigger 320 mm (+20 mm) front disc, ride-by-wire technology, a new side exhaust, EVAP system (Evaporative Emission Control System), adjustable front brake and clutch levers, Controller Area Network (CAN Bus), wider mirrors, and UV resistant paint. Slipper clutch and Bosch dual channel ABS has been retained. The bike also gets ECU-based acceleration for improved throttle response. Kerb weight has been increased by around 5 kg.
The 373.2 cc single cylinder engine produces 43.5 Ps of power and 36 Nm of torque (+1 Nm), mated to a 6 Speed gearbox.
