Folks at Thailand have managed to spy on the 2017 Honda City facelift, ahead of its global unveil in Thailand on January 12. According to several media reports, the new facelift will be introduced in India this month itself.
Unlike the outgoing model’s face which looks too busy with lots of creases, the new design looks sharp and clean. Headlamps have been redesigned which now appear to be LEDs with integrated DRLs. The chrome slat on the grille is thinner, and of course a redesigned bumper.
Changes on the rear is subtle with redesigned lower end of the bumper. Notice the boot lid spoiler.
The interiors too will get some subtle changes with touchscreen infotainment system and several other goodies. Expect no mechanical changes under the hood, the India spec version will most likely continue to offer the 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-DTEC diesel, with 5 and 6 Speed manual and CVT options. However, power and torque figures might change, along with some improved fuel efficiency.
