Swedish luxury marque Volvo has launched the updated V40 hatchback and V40 Cross Country in India, priced at Rs 25.49 lakh and Rs 29.4 lakh respectively. All prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The launch happened along with the opening of a new outlet in Kochi. The range is available in 4 trims.

Both the V40 range now sport LED headlights with Volvo’s new signature Thor’s Hammer DRLs. There’s an updated grille, new bumper design and new alloy wheels. The R-Design trim gets more visual enhancements and a different alloy wheel design.
Volvo Auto India Managing Director Tom von Bonsdorff said – “With a refreshed look and even more features this version will find traction among young buyers across India.”
On the inside, there are 3 leather trim options for the V40, and 5 for the V40 Cross Country. Other features include digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, electric front seats, rear parking camera, park assist and a panoramic sunroof. On the safety front, it gets pedestrian airbag, 2-stage front airbags, driver knee airbag, front seatbelt pretensioners, dynamic stability control, traction control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and emergency brake assist.
Powering the V40 is a 2.0 litre D3 diesel engine producing 148 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The V40 Cross Country gets a 2.0 litre T4 petrol engine as well, producing 177 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6 Speed automatic gearbox.
Currently, the Volvo showrooms are in Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The company plans to expand their dealership network to Lucknow, Pune and Jaipur.
