Folks at Team-BHP have managed to spot the Tiago based compact sedan – Kite 5, which seems to be almost ready for the market. The spotted variant appears to be the top of the line trim, as it sports the alloy wheels, ORVM blinkers and chrome garnishings.
The “Kite 5” is a codename, and as you can see in the picture above, the manufacturer hasn’t seem to have decided the name yet. Media reports speculate the names could be either Tata Viago or Tata Altigo. Tata Kite 5 is claimed to offer a class leading boot space of 420 litres. Tata’s compact sedan has won CII Design Excellence Awards for the year 2016.
As the compact sedan is based on the Tiago, it’ll carry the same powerplants as its hatchback sibling. The 1.2 litre 3 cylinder Revotron petrol and the 1.05 litre 3 cylinder Revotorq diesel motor, with 5 Speed manual transmission. Expect an AMT transmission option as well. The compact sedan will take on the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
