Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 4Matic and E 63 S 4Matic+ at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It’s the most powerful E-Class of all the time. Besides the design tweaks, the 4.0 litre V8 biturbo makes 571 hp @ 5750 – 6500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque @ 2250 – 5000 rpm in the E 63, and in the E 63 S it makes 612 hp @ 5750 – 6500 rpm and a jaw dropping 850 Nm of torque @ 2500 – 4500 rpm. Both are mated to AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed sports transmission (multi clutch).
Talking about the 4Matic+, the all wheel drive which until now was strongly rear-biased, is fully variable for the first time. Which means, 100% of torque can now be sent to rear axle.
The floating tablet style infotainment system which almost everyone hated, well, Mercedes has shown them a huge middle finger, and asked them to F.O. Now there’s a widescreen display with two monitors, which looks like a super extended version of the previous floating tablet.
