Maruti Suzuki has listed its upcoming Ignis mini crossover on its Nexa website, along with a short “coming soon” teaser video. Media reports suggest that the car will be launched on Jan 13, 2017. The website also has a registration form for the interested customers.
The India spec Ignis is expected to come with 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre SHVS diesel options. Transmission will be taken care by a 5 Speed manual, and an AMT is expected as well. The Ignis which is already on sale in Japan, is offered in both 2WD and AWD variants. One of the key features include a Harman developed infotainment system. In Japan, its offered with features such as Dual Camera Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Light Brake, Automatic Braking, Brake Assist and Weaving Alert Function.
The Ignis recently scored a 3 star safety rating in Euro NCAP crash test results with standard equipment, and an impressive 5 stars with optional safety equipment.
