Maruti Suzuki has unveiled India spec Ignis mini crossover to the media today, and also confirmed the launch on Jan 13th, 2017. The Ignis will be sold via NEXA outlets, and bookings will commence from January 1, 2017.
The top spec Ignis will feature 15 inch gloss black alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon projector headlamps with LED DRLs, rear windscreen wiper, blacked-out ORVMs and gloss black roof.
The interiors get dual tone dashboard with body coloured accents on the centre console and door handles. There’s a start/stop button, 7 inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, and automatic climate control as well. On the safety front, it gets dual front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX points as a standard feature across all the trims.
Powering the India spec Ignis will be a choice of 1.2 litre 4 cylinder petrol and 1.3 litre 4 cylinder DDiS diesel motors, same from the Baleno. Power and torque figures will be known only after the launch. A 5 Speed manual transmission is standard, and an AMT will be offered as an option for both petrol and diesel. Internationally, the Ignis has Suzuki’s ALLGRIP all wheel drive system as an option, but India will get it only as a 2WD.
