More manufacturers are making safety a top priority in their vehicles, much ahead of October 2017 when airbags and parking sensors has to be mandatory as per Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Volkswagen and Toyota have already made dual airbags and ABS as standard across its range. Toyota offers Electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) as standard too.
Now Ford India is packing 7 airbags in total in its Aspire compact sedan, a first in its class. The Aspire Titanium AT (automatic) gets dual front airbags, side & curtain airbags and knee airbag, a total of 7. The Aspire base model gets dual front airbags as standard. The top end Titanium+ gets other safety features such as ABS + EBD, perimeter alarm and emergency assistance. The automatic variant gets ESP and Hill Launch Assist as well.
