Mercedes-Benz India has launched the C-Class Cabriolet (C 300) and the super luxurious S-Class Cabriolet (S 500) at Rs 60 lakh and Rs 2.25 Crores, respectively. Prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Out of 12 planned launches, Mercedes-Benz India has just one car left for the year 2016.
C 300 Cabriolet
The C 300 Cabriolet for India will come powered by a 2.0-litre (1,991 cc) 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque, and comes mated to Mercedes’ 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. Opening and closing of the fabric roof happens in 20 seconds and at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h and 0-100 km/h is rated at 6.4 seconds.
S 500 Cabriolet
Another topless beauty that was launched today is the super luxurious S 500 Cabriolet. Based on the S-Class, this one comes powered by 4.7-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine producing 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque. This too gets a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The S 500 can do 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, and its top speed is limited to 250 km/h. This one gets 9 exterior color options along with 4 color options for the fabric roof. Speaking of the fabric roof, it can be opened and closed in 20 seconds, and at speeds of up to 50 km/h. The roof can be operated with the key fob as well. The S-Class Cabriolet is fitted with the Airmatic air suspension system as standard including continuously variable damping control.
Key interior features
Ambient lighting: Three different colors and five dimming levels are available for the desired lighting mood.
AIRCAP: When the soft top is down, AIRCAP reduces turbulence in the interior, for passengers in the rear as well. When the AIRCAP switch is pressed, a wind louvre on the windscreen pops up and the draught-stop positioned behind the rear head restraints is extended upwards.
The THERMATIC automatic climate control with 2 climate zones offers individual climate comfort settings for driver and front passenger. The temperature can be regulated separately for each side. The air is automatically cooled or heated in each case depending on the selected setting.
Audio 20 Multimedia System with Touchpad and GARMIN Map Pilot.
Burmester Surround Sound System: 13 speakers, 9-channel DSP amplifier with a total output power of 590 W. Frontbass technology with woofers integrated into the body shell for vibrant bass reproduction.
Mercedes has no plans to bring the AMG variants of both the Cabriolets.
