Hyundai India launched the third generation Tucson (pronounced Toosan), at Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Hyundai says the new Tucson has been aggressively priced, and is introductory. Variant wise prices below, all ex-showroom, Delhi.

Hyundai says, the new Tucson is constructed with 51% high tensile strength steel. The company says the new Tucson is based on 5 key pillars that includes styling, safety, performance, smart tech and comfort and customer care.
The first generation Tucson was launched globally on 2004, the second one came to India in 2009, and now almost after 7 years, Hyundai brings the third generation with its new design language. The SUV has a drag co-efficient of 0.33 Cd.
The new Tucson is offered only as a 2WD in India at the moment, while the 4WD is expected sometime next year. There are two powerplants on offer. While the 2.0 litre 4 Cyl petrol produces 153 hp @ 6200 rpm and 192 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm, the 2.0 litre 4 Cyl VGT diesel produces 182 hp @ 4000 rpm and a massive 400 Nm of torque @ 1750 – 2750 rpm. While the base model gets a 6 Speed manual transmission, the GL and GLS gets a 6 Speed auto.
Key features of the new Tucson include dual barrel LED headlamps with LED DRLs, automatic headlamps, dual zone climate control, cruise control, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, hands free power tailgate and some more.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS + EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC), Brake Assist, parking sensors, reversing camera with steering guidelines and many more.
The new Tucson measures 4475 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1660 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2670 mm. The SUV rides on 17 inch silver alloy wheels as standard, and the higher variants get 18 inch diamond cut alloys. There are 5 colors on offer – Pure White, Sleek Silver, Star Dust, Phantom Black and Wine Red.
Fuel efficiency is claimed at 13.03 km/l for manual petrol and 12.95 km/l for automatic petrol. The diesel manual returns 18.42 km/l, and the automatic one is claimed to return 16.38 km/l. Fuel tank measures 62 litres.
