Audi India launched the fifth generation A4 (B9) at Rs 38.10 lakhs for the base variant, and the Technology variant is priced at Rs 41.2 lakhs, all prices ex-showroom, Delhi & Mumbai.
Unveiled at Auto Expo earlier this year, the new generation Audi A4 is based on Volkswagen Group MLB platform, which is also shared with several other Audi sedans and also Porsche Macan.
The new generation Audi A4 is lighter by 120 Kg, and the sharp design has helped achieve a drag co-efficient of 0.23, which the company says the best in its class. The new A4 is also bigger than the last gen measuring 25 mm longer and 16 mm wider. Height remains the same.
Besides the leather and brushed aluminium, the interiors of the new generation Audi A4 is packed with features including 8.3 inch MMI touchscreen infotainment system, virtual cockpit, Bang & Olufsen sound system and many many more.
Initially, the new Audi A4 will be offered only with a 1.4 litre TFSI petrol motor in India, and a 2.0 litre diesel is said to follow later. The 1.4 TFSI produces 150 hp @ 5000 – 6000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque @ 1500 – 3500 rpm, mated to an 7 Speed S Tronic automatic transmission. 0-100 is claimed at 8.5 seconds, and top speed is rated at 210 km/h. Fuel efficiency is claimed at 17.84 km/l and emits 114 gm of CO2 per km.
