Korean carmaker Hyundai has added some more options to its best selling Elite i20 hatch. Now the car comes with a new 1.4 litre petrol motor mated to a 4 speed torque converter automatic. This new 1368 cc 4 cyl petrol engine produces 98 hp of power @ 6000 rpm and 132 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm.
Hyundai has also re-introduced 6 airbags for the top of the line Asta(O) trim. The company used to offer six airbags with the first generation i20, but reduced the number to two with the second generation model. There was also all 4 disc brakes in the first gen, but discontinued for the Elite i20.
The Elite i20 Asta(O) petrol is priced at Rs 7,75,828, while the Asta (O) diesel is priced at Rs 8,99,992 (prices ex-showroom Delhi). Prices for both versions have seen a hike of around Rs 15,000.
The Elite i20 automatic is offered only with the Magna trim, and hence misses out on many features such as ABS, parking assist, fog lamps, automatic headlamps, DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, keyless entry, electrically foldable mirrors, rear camera and some more. However, you do get dual front airbags, 2-DIN music system with bluetooth connectivity, all 4 power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
