Renault India launches the much awaited Kwid 1.0 today with prices starting at Rs 3.82 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The Kwid 1.0 is available only with top-end RxT and RxT(O) variants. The RxT is priced at Rs 3,82,776 and RxT(O) is priced at Rs 3,95,776 ex-showroom, Delhi.
Compared to the Kwid 0.8, the changes on the exterior are subtle with the chequered decals featuring “1.0” lettering on the plastic cladding of the door and matte silver-ish ORVM covers. The Kwid 1.0 carries over all the features of the 0.8 Kwid including the 7 inch MEDIANAV touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Rest of the interior remains the same including front power windows, central locking and fabric seat upholstery. RxT(O) comes with a driver airbag. Ground clearance is at 180 mm and boot measures at 300 litres, same as the 0.8 Kwid.
As the name suggests, the Kwid 1.0 is powered by a 1 litre (999 CC) 3 Cyl SCe petrol engine producing 67 hp and 91 Nm of torque. There’s 14 hp and 19 Nm more. At the moment, the Kwid 1.0 is available only with a 5 Speed manual transmission, and an AMT will follow later. Kwid 1.0 has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 23.01 Kmpl.
The Renault Kwid 1.0 will take on Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Wagon R, Celerio and the Hyundai Eon 1.0.
