BMW India has launched the 520d M Sport edition at Rs 54 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. Not to be confused with the M5, the 520d M Sport is all about visual and aerodynamic enhancements to the regular BMW 5 Series sedan. Earlier the M Sport edition was exclusive to the more powerful 530d.
The 520d M Sport gets aerodynamic package which optimize the air flow, and side skirts with additional contour lines which sharpen the vehicle profile. The exhaust pipes are finished in Dark Chrome and the diffuser in Dark Shadow metallic. M Sport package also offers 18-inch 613 M light-alloy wheels in Double-spoke design. Visual enhancements are continued on to the interiors as well with M door sills greeting the driver, M multifunction steering wheel, aluminium hexagon interior trim strip and BMW Individual headliner Anthracite and so on.
Talking about the colors, 520d M Sport can be had in either the non-metallic Alpine White or the metallic Mediterranean Blue and Carbon Black. No mechanical changes whatsoever, and the 520d M Sport still continues to offer the same 1995 CC 4 Cyl twin power turbo diesel engine producing 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque, and comes mated to an 8 Speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shifters.
