More and more manufacturers are now forced to find ways to bypass diesel ban in Delhi-NCR, and eventually to all the regions where it would likely extend. BMW India has imported 1 unit of 725LD from Germany for testing purposes.
This is a 7 Series, with a smaller 1995 CC 4 Cyl diesel engine, and produces 231 hp. The car has an automatic transmission, though no information whether it’ll be an 8 Speed Steptronic. Also, no information on whether this particular model will be exclusive to the diesel ban affected regions or available elsewhere as an option.
The “725LD” seems to be purpose built for India, and doesn’t appear to be sold elsewhere in the world. BMW recently re-launched the petrol variant of the 5 Series (520i) in an attempt to keep up with the sales in the ban affected regions, and it is quite interesting to know how this new 725LD with a smaller engine is like to drive, the equipment list, and last but not the least, the price.
