The competition to make the entry level hatches more and more cheaper & smaller seems to be never ending, not sure whether the Indian consumer wants it to be squeezed that way. Datsun has released couple of teaser images of its entry level hatchback Redi-Go which is ready to be globally unveiled on April 14th.
First unveiled as a concept at Auto Expo 2014, the production version seems to look largely similar. The Redi-Go is based on the Kwid’s CMF-A platform is expected to share bits and features with it’s French cousin. The Redi-Go is also expected to share the same 800 CC petrol motor from the Kwid, mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. 1.0 litre motor is expected later in the year as well. The Redi-Go will be produced in Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, and market launch is expected next month. Expected to be priced lower than the Kwid.
