Renault has launched the much awaited Duster facelift in India, starting at Rs 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 few weeks ago and is available both in petrol and diesel variants. The new Duster also gets a 6-speed Easy-R AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option. There’s a Renault DUSTER App in Google Play Store where customers can book the new Duster.
So let’s get into the point. What’s new? Well, on the outside there’s a re-designed front fascia. There’s a new headlamp design, Renault calls it Hawk Eye Cluster headlamps. Re-styled front grille and bumpers of course. New fog lamps. Renault calls it Firefly Fog Lamps. The ORVMs are now electrically foldable with turn indicators, Waterfall LED Tail Lamps, 16″ Gun Metal Finish Alloy wheels and last but not the least Kayak Roof Rails. New Duster will also be available in a new colour called Cayenne Orange.
On the inside, the Duster facelift gets a rearview camera with guidelines, automatic climate control, auto-up/down power windows with anti-pinch, a 7 inch new media infotainment system with navigation and a whole lot better-looking centre console. The safety package includes ABS, EBD with Brake Assist, dual front airbags, ESP and Hill start assist. Renault says the new Duster has CMO10 and T4 E&E architecture that makes the Duster more safer.
Under the hood, the K9k dCi diesel engine has been carried over from the previous model, tuned at 110 ps (108 bhp) @ 4000 rpm and 245 Nm of torque @ 1750 rpm. The 6-speed manual transmission from the previous version has been retained and the new option now is the Easy-R 6-speed AMT which is exclusive for the diesel Duster. The petrol is again the same 1.6 litre 104 ps motor carried over from the previous one.
“With the new 6 speed Easy-R Automated Manual Transmission and several technical and design enhancements offered at a compelling price, we are confident that the New Duster will lead our expansion plans in India and strengthen our position in the compact SUV segment.” – Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India.
Prices are as listed below, all ex-showroom Delhi.
