Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has launched the much awaited Vitara Brezza compact SUV today, with prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the Vitara Brezza is the company’s first sub-4 metre SUV which has been developed fully in India over a period of 5 years with 98% localization.

Vitara Brezza will be sold in regular Maruti dealerships and not in Nexa, despite having created a premium appeal.

The Brezza is powered by the familiar 1.3L DDiS 200 diesel engine producing 89 bhp @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The compact SUV will be offered in 9 colours. 6 single tone (Fiery Yellow, Cerulean Blue, Blazing Red, Granite Black, Premium Silver, and Pearl Arctic White) and 3 dual-tone (Blazing Red with Midnight Black, Fiery Yellow with Pearl Arctic White, and Cerulean Blue with Pearl Arctic White). The Z trim comes with SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation, reverse parking camera, start button, cruise control, 60:40 split rear seat, projector headlights with LED DRLs and automatic headlights. A driver airbag is standard across the range.
