Jaguar unveiled their F-Pace SUV at Auto Expo 2016. This is Jaguar’s entry into the SUV segment. The good thing about F-Pace is, it’s largely identical to the C-X17 concept that was unveiled back in 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is Jaguar’s first ever crossover SUV. The F-Pace will be sold in 6 trims namely Pure, Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport, S and First Edition. First Edition is the top of the line and Jaguar says its very close to the C-X17 concept. The F-Pace will go on sale in India by the end of this year.
The F-Pace has lightweight aluminium architecture and Jaguar says it has helped reducing weight and boosts efficiency and enhances handling and braking. Jaguar says F-Pace is among the lightest cars in its class offering 50:50 weight distribution balance. The F-Pace also has Torque Vectoring which provides controlled independent braking on the individual inside front and rear wheels to maximise capability while cornering.
The F-Pace is powered by Jaguar’s new Ingenium family of engines. The 2.0L turbocharged diesel that produces 180 ps, 3.0L V6 turbocharged diesel that produces 300 ps, 3.0L V6 Supercharged petrol that produces 340 ps, and there’s also 380 ps version of 3.0L supercharged petrol exclusive to the S and First Edition trim. The F- Pace is Available as AWD or Rear Wheel Drive. Transmission will be taken care by 8 speed automatic or 6 speed manual. Manual option is not available for top of the line trims.

The standard features on all Jaguar F-pace trims include Emergency Brake Assist, Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning, JaguarControl Drive mode selector, Trailer Stability Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Electric Power Assisted Steering or (EPAS), Hill Launch Assist, Start stop technology and 8″ Touch screen infotainment system. The touch screen infotainment system can be upgraded to what Jaguar calls INCONTROL TOUCH PRO, a 10.2″ screen which has multi-touch gesture functionality or 12.3″ inch touch screen display with 3D map view.
The First Edition trim is a limited edition, limited to 2000 units, and gets 22″ Double Helix Alloy Wheels, two unique colors – Caesium Blue and Halcyon Gold, Panoramic sunroof, Gesture tail gate release, 10-way electric seats, Adaptive Dynamics suspension, configurable mood lighting, rain sensing wipers with auto headlamps and Meridian sound system as standard.
Jaguar F-Pace offers Park Assist, 360 surround camera, lane keep assist and driver condition monitor, traffic sign recognition with intelligent speed limiter, blind spot monitor with reverse traffic detection and adaptive cruise control as optional features.
