Mahindra today launched the much awaited compact SUV KUV100 (pronounced as KUV ‘1 double Oh’) at price range of Rs 4.42 lakh – Rs 6.76 lakh ex-showroom, pune.

Powerplant
The KUV100 will be powered by an all new mFALCON family of engines and will be offered both in petrol and diesel variants. The diesel is a 1198CC Turbocharged CRDe producing 77 bhp @ 3750RPM and 190 Nm of torque @ 1750-2250RPM. The petrol is a 1198CC producing 82 bhp @ 5500RPM and 115 Nm of torque @ 3500-3600RPM. The engines feature a 3-cylinder construction meeting BS IV emission standards and are BS V ready. Both petrol and diesel are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra says there are no plans to introduce an automatic transmission.
Mahindra KUV100 is also the first ever sub-compact SUV in India with 6-seat configuration, though there will be a 5-seat version as well on offer. Mahindra says the 6-seat is just for point of difference or rather a power of choice without any compromise for safety.
Fuel Efficiency
The petrol KUV100 has an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.23kmpl, while the diesel version returns an impressive 25.3kmpl.
Key features and comparison –
While the driver and front passenger airbags are optional, all the variants of the KUV100 will get anti-lock braking system as standard. The top-end trim K8, however, will have both dual airbags and ABS as standard.
