Mahindra has unveiled pictures and details of its upcoming KUV100 (pronounced as KUV ‘1 double Oh’) which is to be launched on January 15th 2016. As per Mahindra, KUV stands for Kool Utility Vehicle. Designed at in-house facility in Chakan (Pune) and engineered at Mahindra’s R&D facility at Chennai, the front end design sports a rectangualrish wrap-around headlights with day-time running LEDs and a narrow grille which kinda reminds of RR Evoque as some people say. The bumper design has crossover elements with slanted rectangular fog lamps which gives the vehicle a sporty look. While the aggressive front end design gives the KUV100 an SUV stance, the rear bit has a hatchback design.
“Conceptualized and developed with the aim of creating an entirely new category, the KUV100 is a compact SUV where ‘K’ stands for the ‘kool’ & trendy generation of youth, while UV represents an SUV. The numeric ‘100’ represents the pecking order of the series which comes in below TUV300 and XUV500” – Press Release.
The KUV100 will be powered by an all new mFALCON family of engines and will be offered both in petrol and diesel variants.
