Mercedes Benz India accomplishes the target of launching 15 cars in India this year with the new A Class today. The new A Class is priced at Rs 24.95 lakhs for the A 180 Sport and Rs 25.95 lakhs for the A 200d. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.
Changes for the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class are minimal. In terms of design upgrades, the front fascia of the new A-Class comes with a revised air dam and a pair of new head lamps along with optional LED DRLs. The rear end remains mostly similar, except for the new LED tail lamps.
As for the inside of the car, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class looks a lot similar to the out-going model, but what’s changed here is the upgraded materials with new colors trim for the dashboard and a wide panoramic sunroof. The center console now features a bigger 8-inch touchscreen that comes as optional. Some other new features include Sahara Beige / black leather in the Exclusive package and even smartphone integration including Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, making it the first in its segment.
The A 180 Sport features a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine which produces 122hp @5000 rpm and 200nm of torque @ 1250-4000 rpm. The A 200d Sport has a 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel producing 136hp @3200-4000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @1400-3000 rpm.
