The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC and GLC Coupe have just received their AMG siblings. The models include GLC 63 4Matic+, GLC 63 S 4Matic+, GLC 63 4Matic+ Coupe and GLC 63 S 4Matic+ Coupe. That’s a confusing number of variants and long names, but the GLC 43 versions are expected too.
The visual treatment is similar to that of the new GLE 53 4Matic+. There is the AMG-specific grille, restyled bumpers, 90 mm twin tailpipe trims, and 5-twin-spoke 20-inch light-alloy wheels for the S models. Buyers can opt for 21-inch wheels as well.
2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S 4Matic+
Features inside include MBUX system comprising of 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, Artico man-made leather upholstery with Dinamica microfibre, and new AMG steering wheel.
The models also get AMG Ride Control+ air suspension with adaptive damping adjustment, and electronically controlled differential lock as standard. The S models get dynamic engine mounts as standard. These mounts instantly and variably adapt their rigidity to the driving conditions and style of driving.
Powertrain
A 4.0-litre (3,982 cc) V8 twin-turbo petrol engine powers all four models, offering 350 kW (476 hp) at 5,500-6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque between 1,750-4,500 rpm. In the S models, the engine is tuned to produce 510 hp and 700 Nm of torque, good enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds. AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission sends power to the all four wheels via 4Matic fully variable AWD system.
Options include AMG Performance exhaust system with flap control, and AMG high-performance ceramic composite brake system with bronze-coloured 6-piston fixed calipers at the front and single-piston floating calipers at the rear.
